special night tonight. the giants open the world series with a victory. but there is more good news. winning six of the last seven world series. dennis o'donnell is at at&t park. how are you doing, buddy? >> reporter: doing great. didn't expect this kind of baseball game. giants scored only 19 runs in the six games against the philadelphia phillys. tonight they scored 11. many of them coming against baseball's best pitchers. cliff lee. sanchez with three doubles and three runs batted in in this game. a three-run home run. his second home run in as many playoff games. giants win a slugfest 11-7 and

club. that's right. the relief herbal center on mission street in the city here is giving away marijuana every single time the giants hit one out in the world series. the promotion is open to patients who are in the club at the time. >> all right. speaking of dope, we have some pictures of some gunmen bursting into a medical marijuana dispensary in san jose. surveillance video was taken at the monterey road dispensary on september 29th. these robbers showed their guns to the employees, tied up their hands and then got away with cash and marijuana. they also showed their faces. smart guys. first suspect described as late 20s or early 30s. about 6'2", 230 pounds. the second guy is about 5'7", 150 pounds. and the men may also be linked to another robbery last month at another san joe's pot club. a bay area landlord is seeking out marijuana patients to rent his place and he is not

secretive about it at all. in fact, he put an ad on craigs list. he showed robert lyles one room in the house that is a big selling point. >> reporter: it has three bedrooms that are works in progress. >> would number considered the master. >> reporter: yes. there is one bath room and even dirty on the walls. you made this with the soil in your backyard? >> yes. >> reporter: the calls to david peterson have been nonstop. >> somebody else is coming to see the house at 5:30 p.m. the sooner the better. >> reporter: so why are renters racing to a north rich mond neighborhood? >> in is the grow room. this used to be a walk-in closet. >> reporter: that's right, instead of skeletons in peterson's closet there is a 32- foot grow table capable of holding pot plants. in fact, peterson has made indoor growing effortlessly.

in a ravine in the hills behind this morning a search and rescue crew found a body believed to be one of the twin in a ravine in the hills behind hayward high school. both 15 year olds went to school there. deputies responding to a report of a burglary found the other twin at a home near hayward yesterday. investigators tell the chronicle that he had the gas on and was asking deputies to kill him. they are not sure if the boy found in the ravine was murdered or committed suicide. these days everything can get political. how you vote. where you shop. even where you work out. last week's stories began popping up on the internet and in the gay press about gold gym's corporate owner in texas. he apparently gave $2 million to a committee run by karl rove to help candidates. but bay area franchise owners said they were breaking with it

>> reporter: apple has acknowledged the security flaw that allows an intruder to make calls, look up contacts and listen to voice mail. outside the apple store we did it over an over again. there you go. >> geez. >> call anyone you want. >> reporter: the good news, if you want to call it that, the intruder cannot access e-mail or anything else. and the flaw affects iphones running os 4.1. but that includes nearly every single iphone 4 out there. >> for somebody to be able to break in and take all that and access it is a pretty big deal. i will be very concerned. >> reporter: in fact, this is the second such iphone security flaw. the first one happened in 2008 and bypassing the pass code then was even easier. senior editor kent german says apple is human. >> they put out a product. it is never going to be perfect. certainly apple has that same sort of aura about it that they can do nothing wrong and i think some people would believe it. this just reinforces the case that they are a company like

bay. reporting some very light rain showers. to the north and heavier precipitation. this will intensify during the overnight hours. bottom line is it will be relatively dry. temperatures in the 40s and 50s overnight. not as cold as last night. woke up this morning with frost on your lawn. 50 san jose. this is impressive. i love this. this is like textbook perfect if you are studying this in meteorology school. moisture moving into the bay area in the overnight hours. very light. very brief. but it does begin to intensify. the bulk of the precipitation does remain well to the north of the golden gate bridge. now, watch this. this is very ominous because we have game 2 tomorrow at 5 p.m. wanting to play tag with the golden gate bridge and not

and not only in that philosophical "every vote whether you vote in person or by mail your vote is counted the same. not only in that philosophical every vote counts way. erin asks us are mail in and absentee ballots counted first or only when the election is close. that's tonight's good question. everybody knows election day is november 2nd but did you know that you can vote now? the city of san francisco actually allows you to come into city hall up to 29 days ahead of election day and vote in person or if you would rather do it by mail you can vote absentee. city registrar of voters says thousand of absentee ballots have already arrived.

they are kept in this sealed room but are not officially counted until election night. >> we open up the envelope a week before the election then we run them through the tabulators. >> reporter: this new machine photographs and records each absentee ballot and matches it to the voter's signature then stores that info on a stand alone server which for security is not part of the internet or the city's computer system. he says about 40% of voters will vote this way. the ballots have to be in the registrar's possession by the close of polls on election night. even if that means going down to the post office to pick them up. >> with the post office's assistance we actually grab all the ballots at a street station and bring them back here for processing. >> i need your good question. send them to me at cbs5.com. just a dishonest politician,
